2011 SCHOLARSHIP
COMMITTEE REPORT
My
Brothers and Sisters:
It
is my pleasure to announce that your State Scholarship
Committee
, after much deliberation has selected the
six recipients for our $1,000.00 Sons of
Italy Foundation Scholarship Awards.
We reviewed forty applications.
Three of the applications were voided
because they did not meet our requirements.
I
want to thank my Committee, Sister Marie Ruggiero and Brother John
Misa for their assistance. In the past, we were able to issue ten or
more scholarships.
Due to the low interest rates, we were only
able to issue six scholarships this year.
This made it very difficult to choose six
recipients out of thirty-seven applications.
I
have sent the recipients a letter congratulating them and requesting
information in order that we may send the checks directly to the
college of their choice.
On
May 19, 2011,
President Edward Mottola, Jr. and I will present the Dante Medal
to
Katrina Farese
at the Awards Night at Olympic Heights High
School in Boca Raton.
It
is with great pleasure that I submit the list of scholarship
recipients for the year 2011.
